Featured Ride: Guillaume’s VIP Styled Genesis
Previously best known for their commuter cars and soccer mom moving compact sport utility vehicles, Hyundai placed their bets on quite the roll of dice when they released the Genesis line of vehicles in 2008.
Faced with a seriously uphill battle convincing the general public --never mind enthusiasts-- that they could produce a luxury car, and a sports coupe, they had to come out of the gate swinging to grab any sort of market hold.
Ten Trends Of 2013
At the end of each year I've always found it fitting to look back on a few of the trends, both on-line and otherwise, that took the car community documented here on Stance Is Everything by storm the last three hundred and sixty five days.
If nothing else posts like these are always amusing to look back on the following years to assist in separating the trends from the fads.
Theme Tuesdays: My Favorite Photos of 2013
Can't really think of a better way to send off a year of Theme Tuesday posts than with a collection of my own personal favourite photos of 2013.
One day I might go back and count how many photos I take in a season, but I do know it's quite a few so narrowing down my picks was a little difficult but I am pretty happy with the list below.
Event Coverage: H2O International 2013 – Pt. 1
On the way to Ocean City my co-pilot and I had a lot of time to discuss just how great H2O could actually be. Previous coverage and instragram updates made it sound pretty great but we wanted to keep our expectations fairly realistic so we talked it down a tad to not be disappointed.
Several hours into the drive we figured we had formed reasonable expectations but the second we turned onto the strip said expectations were blown clear out of the water by the sheer number of vehicles in Ocean City MD.
Behind The Scenes Of A USDMFREAX Feature Shoot
It's no secret that people here in North America are becoming increasingly obsessed with the enthusiast culture in Japan. Print publications like Super Street periodically run features on shops and gatherings in the land of the rising sun, while on-line media houses like SpeedHunters have hired Japanese correspondents to provide an in depth, on-going look into their scene.
On the flip side Japanese enthusiasts have begun to take great interest in what we are doing and one of the magazines providing those in Japan a close look at the North American Enthusiast culture is USDMFREAX.
Event Coverage: Fitted Capital Tour Ottawa
This years GTA Fitted Lifestyle event was such a success that Dave and the guys at Stretch & Poke decided to throw a follow up event last weekend in Ottawa.
As a show of appreciation to those who made the opposite trek in May the Fitted Capital Tour (held at Track Werks) used Stretch & Poke's tried and tested formula of a casual meet with a few awards.
French Connection
Visiting Montreal for Eurokracy 2013 opened up several opportunities to share a meal, drink, or both, with people I had previously only had the pleasure of interacting with on-line and today's feature comes by way of one of those chance encounters.
Gabe, and Kevin, --who I met over dinner after Eurokracy-- are part of the production team at French Canadian VDO; a Quebec based media outlet that has been making an impact on the minitrucking world for the past few years.
