The concept of theme Tuesdays here on Stance Is Everything is simple, every Tuesday I pick a theme and post a collection of vehicles with that theme that meet the stance criteria (modified suspension that fit the vehicles overall theme). This weeks theme Tuesday topic is: Audi Wagons
Driving a wagon is one thing, modifying one is another, and having them all look like this well that’s awesome.

Part two of this past weekends Scrape By the Lake event. This second of three photo set features: The Suds skate team, the hot rods, import and muscle cars and yes my overwhelming message board demand the bikini contest.

This past weekend July 19th had to big events going, Eurofest and Scrape By The Lake, after weighing what both shows had to offer we headed out to Scrape By The Lake only because it’s the only show close enough to the GTA that has a large turnout of Low riders and mini trucks. With over 164 pictures ready for the web this coverage is going to be broken up into three parts over the next three days in addition to our regular fare. First up: The Lowriders
Note: I am trying a larger resolution for the pictures so be sure to click on them as they open up larger
Hoppers – Hoppin
Hydraulics are a big part of the low riding community and somewhat rare at shows around here but Scrape was the place to go to see these cars do what no other can.

Girls
There were a lot of girls hanging around, come back tomorrow for the bikini contest shots
Just hanging aroundHeading to the bikini contestAnother girl going somewhere
I asked a few questions last Friday and it left most (all) of you stumped or silent via the comments (not so much msn). Anyway as to the answer of what last Fridays car was well. I think its some sort of Studebaker but to be honest I don’t really know. The picture is named pretty ambiguously on my hard drive so I am going to have to do a little leg work to figure out what it was. As to which event I went to well…
Does this answer your question
I took over 150 pictures from this event so expect part one of the coverage up today around noon then the other two parts Tuesday and Wednesday.
This week is another two for one event. I have one WTF is that and a WTF? But I also have a question, which event would you rather see covered? Euro Fest or Scrape By the Lake? I can only go to one and from a few people I chatted with it seems like Scrape is winning… Comment both are this Sunday!
Check out the front bumper height and rear tires on this car. Do you know what it is?Seeing this pull up to the local drag strip would sure cause a few wtfs?
Minitrucks and lowriders have been around for years but you never really see a lot of them turn up at your average car show. However Scrape By the Lake isn’t your average show. Scrape by the lake is Canada’s premiere low rider show hosted by Rollerz Only CC. Scrape is always a huge event but this years July 19th event is special because its the 10th anniversary.
As the name states Scrape By the Lake is always located near Lake Ontario, this year it is at Prudhommes landing which is a picnic style show, which is rad, since most shows do not encourage you to bring your own BBQ. Last years show had over 50 entrants from lowriders, minitrucks, and sport compacts competing for awards in over 70 classes.
The show also has a hop off and dance competition which is normal for lowrider shows but unheard of for normal car shows. If you are unsure what that is In addition to the average show and shine there is also a hop off and dance competition. Don’t know what that is? Watch this video:
Scrape is also going to have a Freestyle Motorcross show by the Metal Mulisha, skatebaord demos by the SUD skates team, Live DJs and hip hop acts, and a bikini pageant. It’s simply not an event to be missed. If you are not at Eurofest make sure to get out to Scrape By the Lake!
I have been pretty busy today with some job hunting, housework, and small technical additions to the blog but that’s no reason to leave you guys hanging! Here is a trio of recent hotness I have spotted to fill the gap until I write my event preview for Scrape By The Lake later tonight. Enjoy.
Wood panels are legitMaxmembers old ride on x5 wheels I always dugYou can never go wrong with dropped, black, American Muscle
This was originally supposed to be a guest blog on stanceworks but Mike is pretty busy doing covershoots and the like in AZ so I decided to post it here before it goes stale:
Necessity is the mother of all invention, and this is probably how all the wheel swapping started along with the now famous words “ya these will probably fit”. Imagine this, you are working on your latest project and just sent the wheels off to the get refinished but it’s also your daily driver so you need to get to work (mod money sadly does not grow on trees).
Your dads “when I get the time” project is sitting collecting dust in the corner and has the same bolt pattern as your car and the offset is close enough… before you know it they are on your ride and look way better than you ever could have imagined.
E30 bottle caps on Honda’s, BBS RM’s on e30s, Camaro rims on s-10s and blazers, gsr blades on damn near every Honda the combination are really endless. Suddenly the words “these will probably fit” sparked a revolution in car communities across the world.
Wheels are generally the second thing to go on any car (suspension being the first) and most people would rather sell their stock wheels than have them take up much needed garage real estate so why stay within the wheel choice of your brand when a seemingly endless supply of unwanted wheels exists online and in junk yards around the world?
Who would have thought that S- Class wheels would look so good on a Volvo?
Volvo S Class?
Or that the perhaps most common corvette generation and the VW Beetle generation that is nearly unanimously agreed on as the worst could come together and create something so aesthetically pleasing?
Wonder if an LS-1 can fit in there some place
Before running to your local wheel vendor and picking up a set of wheels that anyone else with the same car can bolt up to their ride and copy your style browse the google monster and grab a friend with some Photoshop skills to help you out and see what kind of combination you can come up with.
To aid in your search here is some inspiration:
Mercedes Benz wheels are some of the more popular wheels to get swapped around since rolling a Benz on stock rims isn’t fly:
This Passat looks great on Benz rimsThis wagon is in on the fun
Audi wheels are also starting to make the rounds:
I love white hatchesBetter than aftermarketThis example of rim swapping was at this years Tuners Against Street Racing
Porsche/VW collaborations are not too far of an imagination stretch
Simple and cleanVW borrows from Porsche, and Audi hereTimless
Jeep and Ford wheels however are quite a leap
Who knew Wrangler wheels fit? These are f150 wheels apparently
BMW wheels are also not safe:
M6 wheels on a LexCSLs for a GTO
One brand trash could be your treasure so get creative and try something new and when it doubt just remember style 5’s make everything better.
The concept of theme Tuesdays here on Stance Is Everything is simple, every Tuesday I pick a theme and post a collection of vehicles with that theme that meet the stance criteria (modified suspension that fit the vehicles overall theme). This weeks theme Tuesday topic is: The Dumpedstars
Our last featured Photographer, Kristoff, put me on to Honda Tech’s Dumpedstars crew and I have to admit that these guys know how to run a crew. They only. allow the best of cars into the official crew but the 216 page thread is full of members and hopefuls with amazing cars. To save you the trouble of combing through the thread I have collected 20 of what I thought were the best.

Tuners Against Street Racing went off for its third year without a hitch and Stance Is Everything was there to cover the event. Since I took so many photos at the show I am going to break the coverage up into two parts. This second part of the coverage contains photos of some of the standout vehicles and amusing things from the event.
