Event Coverage: CSCS Finale Part 1

I’ve been wanting to take a trip out to Cayuga for awhile and I have been wanting to go to a CSCS event for just as long so it figures that when I finally had the time to go to one the weather was a mixed bag of nuts. The weather eventually led to the cancellation of the drag racing and had the show and shine guys spent more time drying their cars than showing them but I still took quite a few pics. I am going to start breaking up my event coverage into easier to load pieces (about 30 photos per post) so this is part 1 of the coverage; Random stuff, Drag, Paddock Cars, and Drifters.

Random Stuff

Like every other show I go to I took pics of interesting things that caught my eye, Zombieland taught me to appreciate the little things, go see that movie by the way.

Drag Cars

I Didn’t get a lot of drag pictures at all since whenever I went over there it seemed to be raining and when it wasn’t I was eating, I plan on going to a few drags next year so you 1/4 junkies will have to stick around for awhile.

These cars were either lapping or competing in the un-registered hard parking (spectating like myself) event .

Drifters

The Drift event was pretty interesting due to the ever changing track conditions. Some people who did well during practice didn’t do so well during qualifying and vice-versa. I didn’t get to stick around for the finals so I don’t know who won…

  1. I think its great that the drag tracks have opened up Friday nights for anyone who wants to take a run down the 1/4 mile. Its legal, and you’ve got the slip to prove you’re faster than your buddies. You should check out one of the bigger drag races at Cayuga or Grand Bend Motorplex. Or check out a national ihra or nhra race when they come to a track near you. They have pulled back on their national events, but you still don’t have to travel far to check out some amazing cars.

  2. Ya I want to go to Grand Bend my gf says nothing but good things about it. I would like to see some quick cars in ideal conditions.

    I want to do a few runs myself as well.
